The 7-a-side, national U13 hockey tournament was held the next day. At the tournament were the best hockey teams in the UK. There were only two scottish teams there, and we were one of them.
I was one of the umpires! I umpired hockey at the national level!
The standard was pretty damn good.
The boys did pretty well, considering that they were at the nationals, and competing against massive schools. Ardvreck is tiny in comparison – there are only 37 boys in fifth and sixth form (12 and 13 yr olds), whereas other schools there had well over 100.
They won a few, drew a few and lost a few. Not a bad result!
