I head off on a three day tour of Scotland. Unfortunately, the tour took us north. The way I see it, that’s closer to the North Pole. So it was pretty much three days of extremely strong winds, torrential rain, hail, and even snow!
We climbed this big foggy mountain on the Isle of Skye. The wind was so fierce that the water from the waterfalls didn’t actually reach the ground. It was just blown off into the wind. When got to the top it started hailing! Big, stinging chunks of ice fell right on top of us as we tried to scamper back down the mountain and hide our faces underneath our jackets. We ended up battered and bruised, but actually felt like we achieved something.
Does it remind anyone of the volcano from the Lord of the Rings? I think I know how Frodo felt…
Next stop was Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull. Entrapment, and the Bond film ‘The World is Not Enough’ have been shot there.
